Composite R&D Laboratory has been established within Mitaş Energy Composites Factory in 2018. Raw material and composite product tests are being performed in the laboratory. The aim is to ensure that tests are performed reliably and quickly. In the laboratory, mechanical and chemical tests are carried out.
In the laboratory there is a tensile and compression test machine with 100 kN capacity. The tensile and compression tests are performed for poles, profiles, tubes etc. by taking coupon samples in accordance with EN ISO 527-4, ASTM D638 and TS EN ISO 14125.
A measurement of hardness by means of the Barcol Impressor is possible. The procedure is applied in accordance with ASTM D2583.
The viscosity is measured with the device shown in the figure. The viscometer with temperature probe also determines temperature of sample.
With the precision balance shown in figure, not only weight is measured but also density is determined.
The calcination test is performed in the furnace to determine the ratio of resin and reinforcement material.
The bending test is performed to determine the mechanical properties of the material against bending. The load is applied to the sample at a certain speed from three different points.
The mechanical properties of the material against bending are obtained as a result of the load at a certain speed applied to the full section of the sample.
